The COnvergent Media and Exploratory Technologies (COMET) Lab is an applied research laboratory in the Department of Human-Centered Computing, School of Informatics and Computing at IUPUI, where faculty and students work together to deliver web, mobile and interactive media solutions for a range of projects. These include projects submitted by units from the IUPUI campus, external organizations and the community at large. It also includes Service Learning, Independent Study, and Capstone projects initiated by SOIC students.
The lab's focus centers on the multi-channel, ubiquitous nature of media technologies in various applications such as in education, health, and entertainment. The media development expertise of our faculty, coupled with the synergy and mentoring of selected, talented students working the lab make COMET a unique place to seek partnerships to develop websites, media-rich, mobile and interactive applications of any type, as well as video production and video installations solutions, games, 3D and digital animation projects.
By combining the department's service and educational mission of training the next generation of highly-skilled media and IT professionals in Indiana and beyond, COMET is eager to collaborate with partners looking for media development solutions to fulfill their communication and organizational needs.
